WOODY’S WORD 25th June 2013

‘It is not enough to stay busy. Ants, too, are busy. The question is what you are busy about’                                                                                                                                   HENRY DAVID THOREAU

What a scorcher it was today. We made the most of this fine weather by utilizing  the waterfront most of the afternoon. We shortened the Leagues a little bit so that everyone could get a nice dip in the lake. The rain that threatened never materialized; indeed, the opposite happened and we got even more sunshine so that by this evening every ball field was alive with softball action and long shadows.

Steve and Bari and the CITs got back from the Dells at 8pm and walked straight into the campfire, ‘Know Your Counselor’. A variation on the Mr and Mrs game-show on the TV, we set up the benches down at the waterfront with a podium and a microphone and set to work trying to find out what we could about certain cabin counselors. The boys had great fun while demonstrating their extensive knowledge of their counselors.

We have another exciting and busy day planned for tomorrow; more instruction, more competitive league action and a surprise event for tomorrow night.

Wherever this Word reaches you tonight – Chicago, London, Sydney, Lagos, New York and all points beyond – know that all is well on this beautiful evening by Sand Lake, so safely rest.

Goodnight everybody.

As ever…WOODY!
